Anti clenching injections are quick and painless and may be used before, during or after implant surgery to weaken the clenching muscles and reduce the biting forces.
This treatment is especially useful during healing after All On 4® surgery in patients who have a heavy bite and/or in situations where the stability of the implants might be compromised due to poor quality jawbone.
Treatment may be repeated every 3-4 months in patients who are particularly prone to excessive wear or breakages.
The same medicines may also be used to deactivate the platysma muscles in the neck in patients who have lost their back teeth and typically posture forward to be able to chew (right).
